Ian calderon is ready to get to work

Ian Calderon will bring a new generation of California leadership. The first millennial elected to the Legislature and the youngest Majority Leader in state history, Ian had every reason to stay in Sacramento. Five years ago, he walked away. Ian chose, instead, to raise his kids, build a business, and live in the same California the rest of us do.

And what he’s seen is a state that has stacked the deck against working families: gas prices through the roof, Wall Street is buying up entire neighborhoods, childcare costs crushing parents, and paychecks that can’t cover the cost of living.

Ian is running for Governor to get families into homes, to stop big investors from outbidding first time homebuyers, and to end the onslaught of new laws that drive up the cost of building new housing.

It is time to bring common sense back to California. That starts by putting working families and small businesses ahead of BOTH political extremes and the special interests that profit by dividing us.

  • Leverage new technology and digital currencies to make government services more efficient.

Make Homeownership Possible Again

  • Tackle the housing crisis for what it is, a true emergency. Focus the State Government on pulling every lever it can to lower housing costs and build more housing.
  • Dramatically expand funding and eligibility for the California Dream for All Shared Appreciation Loan program, providing down payment assistance for California families, just like the GI Bill did for veterans.
  • Put a moratorium on regulations that increase the cost of building homes.
  • Stop Wall Street and foreign investors from buying up neighborhoods and driving up costs.

Drive Down The Cost of Living

  • Veto any new laws that increase the cost of gas and reestablish California’s energy independence.
  • Protect Californians’ access to Medi-Cal and low-cost, high-quality healthcare.
  • Cut regulations and fees that raise the price of transporting and selling food.

Protect Families & Small Business

  • Make sure public safety is the most important responsibility, period.
  • Give working families and entrepreneurs support instead of new regulations.
  • Eliminate current regulations that hurt small businesses in California.

Represent All Voters, Not Just My Party

  • Encourage a new generation of leadership to get out of our partisan bubbles.
  • Focus on bringing us together with commonsense solutions.
